my song of the week.... dahsyat beut ne lgu.. hx.hx

Maaf, ku telah menyakitimu
Ku telah kecewakanmu
Bahkan ku sia - siakan hidupku,
dan kubawa kau s'perti diriku
Walau hati ini t'rus menangis
Menahan kesakitan ini
Tapi ku lakukan semua demi cinta
Segalanya t'lah ku berikan
Juga semua kekuranganku
Jika memang ini yang terbaik
Untuk diriku dan dirinya
Kan ku t'rima semua demi cinta

Reff :
Jujur, aku tak kuasa, saat terakhir ku genggam tanganmu
Namun yang pasti terjadi, kita mungkin tak bersama lagi
Bila nanti esok hari
Ku temukan dirimu bahagia
Ijinkan aku titipkan kisah cinta kita selamanya

RAN - for your life.... keureun beuth.....hehe

Album pertamanya ialah For Your Life dirilis pada tahun 2008.

Rayi dan Asta mulai bermain musik bersama sejak sekolah di SMA Al-Izhar, Pondok Labu. Bersama teman-temannya, mereka sempat membentuk band bernama F.R.D. Akhir tahun 2007, RAN merilis album debut RAN For Your Life di bawah manajemen dan label Universal Music Indonesia.[1]

Daftar Lagu

Warna Warni Dunia.

Hanya Untukmu. Riff gitar yang tangkas jadi senjata andalan RAN. Ditingkahi oleh scratches yang usil, sound hand clapping electronis, nada keyboard dan kocokan gitar jazzy menaikkan self confidence band bahkan koor yee ooo uuu-nya pun tak terdengar norak. RAN memadukan gaya ceria anak muda dari berbagai jaman. Ingat, misi kali ini adalah kembali remaja.

D'Inspiration. Tak ketinggalan koor rame-rame untuk mengingatkan bahwa we’re still in a party.

Beberapa ketuk piano diselipkan menggantikan petikan gitar. Just a try.

Let Me Be.

Tapi, kalau anda tak terlalu memedulikan itu, party is still on fire.

Nothing Lasts Forever.

[review] Ikimono Gakari - Life Album

Ikimono Gakari is a rather underrated 3-piece band which made their main-stream debut in 2006 with SAKURA. The band apparently has an unhealthy obsession with flowers and everything nice and sunny. In fact, if it wasn’t for the text, I’d have thought they were a live-action version of The Powerpuff Girls or something, lol.

Anyway, Ikimono Gakari was first formed in 1999 as an indies band, but never saw the big lights until 2006, and now they come up with their sophomore mainstream album called Life Album. Life Album reached #1 on Oricon Weekly Charts in its first week, for the record, and that’s pretty damn awesome for a pop-rock band that’s not very popular. Anywho, getting on with the review now.

The first track on the album is Good Morning, an upbeat track with a cutesy rhythm and cool vocals by Kiyoe. The verses sound quite cool, but the chorus is rather annoying, in my opinion. For some reason, I can’t stand this song for very long. Still, a nice introduction for what’s to come next.

Next is Akaneiro no Yakusoku, the title track from their second-last single. Kiyoe sounds really amazing in this song, and I just love the chorus! The whole song has a subtle sad undertone, but at the same time is filled with life. What I like so much about Kiyoe’s vocals is that she can ‘break’ her voice, which a lot of vocalists can’t do. Mostly this is present in folksingers, but I believe Kiyoe uses the same technique as them.

The third is the one that really woke me up from my sweet slumber. Natsuzora Graffiti is a track that’s the perfect fusion of pop and rock, and has a sweetly aggressive chorus that makes you want to get up and start running, or flying or anything spontaneous and random. It was also the title track from their third-last double A-side single. Once again, the vocals are the strongest part of the song and are executed perfectly.

Seishun Line is, like Natsuzora Graffiti, yet another lively and energetic track, but a lot faster paced. Seishun Line was the other A-side in their third-last single at this point. If there’s one thing I love about Ikimono Gakari, its their use of easier words in their lyrics. For once, I don’t need to look up into the dictionary every few seconds to see the meaning of a word I don’t understand (I’m looking at you, Kagrra). Also, the fact that Kiyoe pronounces words perfectly so it’s much easier to comprehend.

I like the brave attempt at originality with @miso soup, but sadly it’s nothing special. The whole track is much too cutesy and poppy for my tastes. Still, a nice way to break the mold, even if it doesn’t work as nicely.

Next is exactly what this album needs - a slow paced pop ballad. I was really content with Soprano because it wasn’t another upbeat pop track once again. Even though it’s a different sort of track, but like @miso soup, it doesn’t quite do it for me.

Ah, Hana wa Sakura Kimi wa Utsukushi. I was a little skeptical about this track at first, but I’ve grown to love it a lot. This track is another single track, and released only very recently. I just love the simplicity of the whole track - the acoustic guitar, the plain lyrics, the clear atmosphere. It’s as if the band is trying to sing away the problems of your heart, and makes you feel all warm inside. It’s the kind of song I’d listen to when it’s raining outside or so. Definitely one of the better tracks on this album.

Chikoku Shichau yo is a remix of an older song from their last indies album. Not having listened to the original, I cannot compare it to much. However, from what I hear of this rendition, it sounds quite nice. So does the next track Kokoro Hitotsu Arugamama, which is a love-struck, mid-tempo pop song.

Followed by these is Nisemono, an alternative rock song which sounds pretty damn awesome in my opinion. If there’s one band I would expect a track like this from, it would be “school food punishment”, however, from the plethora of never ending upbeat pop songs of Ikimono Gakari, I would never have expected a track like this. An unexpected and pleasant surprise!

I do not know how to explain this next track. Like Nisemono, it’s a totally unexpected shocker and definitely my favourite track from the entire album. Tokyo Saru Monogatari is such a random sounding pop-rock folksong that I…am just totally blown away by it! I should have estimated what kind of sheer greatness stood before me just with its title (A Tale of Tokyo Monkey), but I could never have guessed what kind of song it was. The best song of the album right alongside Hana wa Sakura Kimi wa Utsukushi.

Goodness, this album is long. The twelveth track is another new rendition of an old indies song by Ikimono Gakari, called Tsuki to Atashi to Reizouko. I still do not understand what kind of special meaning the title has (The moon and me and the refrigerator?), but I still like this track. At least, a lot more than the filler tracks that populated the tracklist in the beginning. The vocals sound very relaxed and calm throughout, and sort of adorable as well. Another great addition the album!

The last track on the album is the acoustic version of Akaneiro no Yakusoku. Personally, I like this version of the song a lot better than the original. The track is backed up very light instrumentals by the piano and acoustic guitar, and what sounds like a harmonica (I’m not sure what this is exactly). The lighter background accentuates Kiyoe’s vocal performance and works wonders. By the end there’s this segment where Kiyoe sings without any instruments in the background at all, and it sounds so amazing. Should she do a song in future without any background music at all and it would still sound great I believe.

In a nutshell, Life Album is quite cool, albeit not perfect. It has its fair share of filler tracks, but also has some mind-blowing ones at the same time. But with only 5 new tracks out of 13, I’m sure fans must be really disappointed. The best tracks on this album definitely have to be Hana wa Sakura Kimi wa Utsukushi, Nisemono and Tokyo Saru Monogatari, while the other single tracks are great as well. Overall, a great album with an excellent second half, and an good first half. Also, on a random note, this will be my longest blog entry yet.
